Egyptian Walking Onion Sets An
Egyptian Walking Onion set is basically a miniature onion. If planted, a set will
grow roots from the bottom and a stalk from the top just like any other onion
plant. When the plant matures it will grow its own cluster of top-sets. Sets grow
atop the Egyptian Walking Onion plant in a cluster. A cluster may contain 2 to
30 sets. Newly emerged sets are an overall yellow-greenish color. As the sets
mature, they will darken to a rich maroon color and develop a papery outer layer. Photo
